The first Business designs in BuildSitesNow are Cocoa, FutureTech and Charcoal - their design and features are specifically targeted at small and mid-size businesses. The business designs feature the following advanced options: ability to add your own logo, show your own copyright text, have several navigations and multi-level menus, change the header image on each page, select between different color schemes per page, structure information more flexibly through the use of content sections. Of course, these designs may be used for non-business sites as well.
The 3 business designs have a different combination of features. You can refer to the Table of Features below before deciding which design will best suit your needs.

How to use the business design features:
Custom logo
The option for uploading a custom logo in the top left area of the design is available in Site Properties. To upload a logo roll over the Control Panel
icon in the Admin view of your site and select Site Properties > Special features > Show Options > Logo. To avoid undesired stretching of your design upload a logo with the recommended size. To remove an already uploaded logo, open Site Properties, go to the Logo edit box, check the checkbox 'remove logo' and click 'Update'. A Site Title will appear on the place of the removed logo.

Custom copyright text
The option for setting custom copyright text is again available in Site Properties > Special features > Show Options. If you set a custom copyright text, the whole copyright text will look like this:
<your copyright text> Powered by BuildSitesNow.
If you do not specify custom copyright text, the default BuildSitesNow copyright text line will show.
Multiple navigation menus
With the Cocoa or FutureTech business design, you can add up to 4 navigation menus. To add a navigation menu rollover the Area
icon available in the Navigation area > Add > Navigation menu. The 4 navigation areas in Cocoa and FutureTech are:
- around the search on top right (2 navigation areas)
- at bottom right
- to the left of the page header image.
In Charcoal there is just one navigation area and it is positioned above the page header image.
Subnavigation
Subnavigation is available for just one of the menu navigations in each design. In Cocoa you may have subnavigation in the menu positioned to the left of the page header. In Futuretech and Charcoal you may add menu subitems in the top navigation.
To add a menu subitem, first add a main menu item. Then rollover the Edit icon
of the Menu Navigation item and select Add > Menu Subitem. Just like main menu items, you may choose to link the menu subitem to a page, or to an external URL. To edit a menu subitem rollover the menu subitem Edit Icon
and select Properties. You can also delete, move up and down, hold a menu subitem, as well as cut, copy and paste it.
Page header images
The page header images are an optional feature. If you do not select a page header image - it will just be replaced by the page title. We have selected for you a set of suitable images to use, but you may also upload your own image.
The page header image is editable from Page properties (rollover the Control Panel
icon in Admin view of your site > Page Properties) > Image.
To upload your own image choose Image > Custom Image and select the location of the image in the Browse field displayed below. As with the option for custom logo, if you upload an image with size bigger than the recommended, the design design will stretch. On the other hand, if you upload an image with size smaller than the recommended - the image will be stretched up to the recommended size.

Color Schemes
The site color scheme is an option that will let you color differently the following elements in your site: page title mat, menu items, section title mat, text styles, bullets, links. The site color scheme may be edited from Site properties > Color Scheme. The Site Color scheme will be the default color scheme for newly added Pages on your site.
Choosing a specific color scheme for your site does not mean you may not have pages or menu items using another Color Scheme. You may select a different Color Scheme for some page of your site from Page Properties > Color Scheme. The selected page color scheme will take effect only on this specific page, and future changes in the Site Color scheme will not affect it. On the opposite, if you set the Color Scheme of your page to Design Default - each time you change your Site Color Scheme the Page Color Scheme will change after the site color scheme.
Additionally, you may choose to have your menu items use different color than the Page or Site Color Scheme. The color property for menu items is available on rollover of the menu item Edit icon
> Properties > Color.
Note that all submenu items (if any) will inherit the color of the main menu item.
The option for menu color is available only for those menu navigations which have the option for subnavigation. A combination of the Menu color schemes and Page color schemes features is specifically useful if you want to color-code sets of pages on your site thematically - i.e. have all Products menus and pages in blue, all Services related pages and menus in red etc.
Page Templates
Unlike standard designs where we have just one page template, we have introduced a second optional page template for the Business designs. The two available page templates are named Home page and Inside page and the differences between them are:
- the size of the page header image is different in both templates;
- you may have sections at the bottom of a page using Home page template, but not at the bottom of a page using Inside page template;
- in Home page template the sections to the right of the page header image may contain News, this option is missing for Inside page template;
To switch the template used for your page open Page properties > Special Features > Show Options > Template.

Sections
The content sections are a new object in BuildSitesNow. Sections allow for a more flexible organization of the content on the page. Using sections you may have some information stand out visually among the other content on the page. Sections are especially useful for company news, intro texts, featured products, information highlights. In each section you can add text and images, files, or news.
Sections can be added in 2 areas on your site, depending on the site and page design used.
If you use Cocoa or Futuretech site design:
- on Home page template you may add sections in the area to the right, to the left of the main content area and at the bottom of the page.
- on Inside page template you may add sections in the area to the right and to the left of the main content area.
If you use Charcoal site design you may add sections in the area to the right of the main content area.
To add a section in the area to the right of the main content, rollover the
icon > Add > Section. Set a section name and submit. The
section title will now appear and to the right of it you will see the Section Edit Icon
. To add content inside the already added section rollover the Section icon
> Add and choose the content you wish to add.
You may add
another section either by rolling
over the
icon > Add > Section or by rolling over any Section icon
> Add > Section.
To add a section at
the bottom of the page with the Home page template - roll over
the
icon on bottom right of your page > Add > Horizontal layout
. The horizontal layout is an object that will
let you divide all section space you have in between the sections you added at the bottom. When you add a
horizontal layout object it will ask you to define the spacing to be left between your sections.
Set the spacing you
need and submit. Now rollover the Horizontal layout icon
to start adding your sections, choose Add >
Section. To add more sections rollover
the
icon again > Add > Section or just rollover any section icon
> Add. The space available on bottom of your page will
be equally distributed between all sections you have added. To
change the spacing between the sections rollover the
Horizontal
layout
icon and select Properties.
Search
The search box positioned on top right of Cocoa
and Futuretech will search for the text typed in it in Google, and will display Google
search result in a new window. If your business site is displayed under a domain you own, Google search result will be restricted within your BuildSitesNow website only.
Slogan
The slogan is formatted text appearing on all pages from your site. The slogan area is positioned to the left of the search box (for Futuretech and Cocoa) and on top right for Charcoal. To add some slogan text rollover the slogan icon
> Add > Text and Images.
Since the slogan is one for the whole site, any changes you apply to it will take effect over all pages. If you delete the slogan text from one page - it will be deleted from all pages.
